Player Guide
How to play Lootborne — move, fight, gear up, and trade in a shared world.
What is Lootborne?
A real-time MMORPG that runs in your browser. You pick a class, roam a shared world with other players, hunt monsters in their zones, and grow stronger by leveling up and improving your gear. The world behind this page is the actual game running on its own — that's what you'll drop into.
Getting in
- Connect a wallet. Click Connect Wallet and approve in Phantom (or any Solana wallet). You sign a short message to prove it's yours — no transaction, no gas.
- Make a character. Pick a name (2–16 letters, numbers or underscores) and a class. You can have several.
- Choose a server and press Play. The list shows each server's region and how many players are online right now.
Moving and fighting
- Move with WASD, the arrow keys, or by clicking the ground.
- Click a monster to lock onto it. You auto-attack while it's in range, so your job is positioning: close the gap as a melee class, keep your distance as a ranged one.
- HP refills slowly when you're out of combat; MP refills all the time. For a fast top-up, drink a potion — 1 for HP, 2 for MP (they share a short cooldown).
- Monsters stay near their home zone and give up the chase if you leave, so you can always back off.
- If you go down you respawn close by and keep everything — death costs you time, not loot.
Your two skills
Every class has two skills with separate cooldowns: Q casts the first, R the second. Some land an effect on top of the damage (see the next section).
| Class | Q | R | Plays like |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mage | Mana Burst — heavy single hit | Frost Nova — freezes nearby foes | Ranged nuker |
| Ranger | 3-Shot — hits up to three | Power Shot — one big arrow | Ranged, well-rounded |
| Priest | Heal — restores your HP & gives Regen | Smite — magic bolt | Ranged, self-sustaining |
| Warrior | Cleave — hits everything around you | Heavy Strike — sets the target Burning | Melee bruiser |
| Paladin | Smash — area hit | Sacred Touch — heal & Regen | Melee tank |
| Rogue | Quick Punch — fast, hard hit | Fan of Knives — Weakens those it hits | Melee striker |
| Merchant | Sparkle — light hit | Coin Toss — ranged hit | Trader; best at buying & selling |
Buffs and debuffs
Effects last a few seconds and show under your bars with a countdown. The ones you place on monsters are how you turn a fight in your favor.
| Frozen | Enemy crawls — kite it freely (Mage's Frost Nova) |
| Burning | Enemy loses HP over time (Warrior's Heavy Strike) |
| Weakened | Enemy hits softer (Rogue's Fan of Knives) |
| Regen | You heal over time (Priest / Paladin heals) |
| Power / Swift | More damage / more speed — drink an elixir to get them |
Elixirs like Ale and Espresso aren't healing — they grant a timed buff. Buy them, then drink from your bag before a tough fight.
Your bag, gear and stats
Open your bag with I. Click a weapon or piece of armor to equip it; click an equipped slot to take it off.
The bag also shows your live stats. Gear is where most of your power comes from:
- Armor / Resistance — soak physical / magic damage.
- Evasion — chance to dodge a hit outright.
- Lifesteal — heal for a slice of the damage you deal.
- Luck — more gold and better drops.
- STR / DEX / INT / VIT — raw stats; your class's main one (★) boosts your attack.
Upgrading gear
Find Cue at the upgrade bench in town. Pick a piece of gear, then pick an upgrade scroll to attempt it. Each success adds a +level that scales the item's stats.
It can break. Every attempt shows its success chance. If it fails, the item is destroyed and the whole server hears about it in chat. Odds drop the higher you push, and fancier scrolls improve them. Upgrade gear you can afford to lose — and you can't bank or sell a +item yet, so wear it.
Gold and the economy
Walk up to any of these townsfolk and press E.
- Shops — buy potions, gear, scrolls and elixirs, or sell loot you don't want.
- Bank (Mr. Rich) — stash gold and items somewhere safe so a risky run can't lose them.
- Token trader (Daisy) — monsters occasionally drop Monster Tokens; trade a stack for potions, scrolls or gear.
- Wheel of Fortune (Rose) — bet gold for a shot at up to 8× back. The wheel keeps a small edge, so it's a thrill, not an income.
Player stalls. Press T to open your own stand, list items at your price, and go AFK to sell to passers-by. To buy, click a player flagged as Selling and pick from their stall.
Gold from kills is luck-based: most pay little, the odd one pays big, and genuinely rare drops are announced to everyone.
The world & getting around
- Press M for the world map to see where you are and what's around.
- Find the transporter (Alia) and press E to travel between zones — Mainland, the Spooky Forest, Desertland and Winterland, each with its own monsters.
- The world is shared and live: other players fight and trade alongside you. Press Enter to chat with everyone.
Leveling, achievements & titles
- Kills give XP. Each level needs more than the last; leveling up fully heals you and raises your stats, all the way to level 200.
- Achievements unlock as you hit milestones — kill counts and level breakpoints. Your bag lists them all with your progress to the next.
- Some achievements grant a Title. Titles aren't just a label — each gives a stat bonus. Equip one from the Titles list in your bag and it shows next to your name.

A few tips
- Fight monsters near your level. Their stats scale up, so don't wander into a zone that flattens you.
- Keep both potion types stocked before a long pull.
- Bank your gold before gambling or a deep upgrade run.
- Only upgrade gear you're willing to lose — and chase Luck if you want more drops to work with.
